Walking is tiring but I'm glad you're getting to see all of the city. You should write a book when you get back, about the "real" France. At least less complicated work = more time to absorb the culture, which is really why you do this, anyway. Anyone could get complicated French books anywhere in the world and sit around and read them.
Also, my boss Joan and her husband Ron are in Paris right now until the 14th. I gave her your contact information so if you get a call from someone speaking English, that's probably her.
